The most complete and comprehensive vision of an artist’s work is made possible when we have the opportunity to examine their artistic production throughout their career. An opportunity to travel in time, taking as a reference point the works that are a product of effort and dedication to the unique task of wanting to show. A revelation whose results are stored in those works, establishing themselves in the fullness of time.

Accessing the work of Antón Lamazares (Maceira, Lalín, Pontevedra, 1954) with the aim of glimpsing fifty years of dedication, research, study and development of an artwork is a very special moment, because it enables us to gain an insight into the career of one of the most unique figures in the artistic context of Galicia, of Spain, and in constant contact with the world. His avid curiosity has allowed him to draw on influences worldwide in order to align intents and purposes that have served to shape his work.

To revisit is to rediscover; it is going back to the beginning, illuminating, once again, the purpose that gave life to that first moment. The layers of time are added to the works and explain them, offering us a renewed observation to enable a more refined evaluation.

This exhibition is an event that will undoubtedly provide an updated appreciation of the originality of Antón Lamazares’s work. To discover his work is to experience silence, to form a part of a wonderful constellation which affords us states of contemplation and intensifies the pleasure. His Alfabeto Delfín encases a clairvoyance, a bold contribution that invites us to discover pure forms, the drawing that supports the word, the register that is transformed into matter and brings back joy.
